Wet Weather Procedure
In general games are cancelled and grounds closed as means to protect the grass on
the playing fields, however any game may be cancelled if lightning is visible.
On The Weekend or Public Holidays:
- Assume your game is on unless you hear otherwise. If the game
is not cancelled and your team fails to show, your team will record a forfeit and
the club will be fined.
- Check the Gwawley Bay home page.
The decision whether or not to play is usually made around 7:30AM and should be
on the home page by 8:00AM. Don't forget to refresh your web browser (Crtl+F5 for
Internet Explorer) after 8:00AM.
Occasionally a round will get cancelled during
the day if the rain increases. Keep checking the GBFC home page for updates.
- Ring your team Manager. If for some reason you're still not
convinced, your team manager should find out by
phone after 7:30AM if the games have been
cancelled or moved.
If the round is on but some fields are closed, the Association will attempt to move
the competition games (U11 and up). Non competition games (U6-U10) scheduled for closed
fields will be cancelled and not played.
On Any Weekday That's Not a Public Holiday:
Look on the front page of this website after midday, or ring the Council's recorded
wet weather number on 9710 0105. DO NOT phone this
number regarding
weekend games.
